HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM ALL AT DUDLEY CANAL AND TUNNEL TRUST

Well 2019 proved to be another fast paced year for us here at Dudley Canal and Tunnel Trust. 2020 certainly looks as if it is going to be the same.

We are introducing new events and activities, we are fund raising to build a new play area on site and we will be adding to our shows in the caverns. We pride ourselves on being an active part of the community and we continue to support the Forging a Future for all initiative and working with all the other local attractions. You can read more about Dudley’s plans for the future at their website: www.dudleyboroughvision2030.org.uk

We could not deliver all we do without the help of our award-winning volunteers. Whether they are story telling on our Tunnel Tots boats, helping visitors on the towpath, clearing the canal or organising 50 years of records and making them available for the public in our Archives Department – they are a key part of our operations and 2019 saw a number of them win awards for their efforts.

Though you may still be suffering from the effects of Christmas shopping for gifts - please remember we have a lovely gift shop here on site which is free to visit and which has a range of unusual items and novelties. This along with a visit to our award winning Biffa Gallery and art exhibitions is a great way to spend some time.

2020 will see us looking to recruit a new volunteer team to help us move our historic boats to boat shows around the country as well as manning them here on site and demonstrating to the public how life was lived and worked on them. If you fancy a new challenge for 2020 - get in touch, its never boring being on a boat.
