Dudley Canal & Tunnel Trust have been looking after the Dudley Tunnel and its network of underground waterways since they were first threatened in the 1950s. And yet, through all those years no situation we've faced has been more challenging than right now, as the current Covid-19 coronavirus situation forces us to close our doors to the public.

Whilst our site is closed it still costs us over £1000 a day to look after the tunnels, our digital outreach and collections, even though we'll have no income from ticket, gift or food sales visitors buying boat trips, enjoying the Gongoozler or browsing our gift shop.

Our target of £30,000 is the minimum we need to raise just to meet these costs for 30 days. We are doing everything we can to ensure we can reopen when restrictions are lifted but we need your help!

Any donation you can give us will help us to;

  • protect the Dudley Tunnel and its waterways network so that people can enjoy it when the nation's health improves
  • and much more!
  • create digital learning resources, available for free on our website for families, teachers and anyone else to enjoy
  • create content for our social media platforms to engage, entertain and inspire those at home, connecting them with their heritage, such us our Virtual Tunnel Tots weekly story sessions, live talks and demonstrations, videos are more
  • support vulnerable and at-risk people in our community with contact through digital means and phone support during their periods of isolation
  • maintain the caverns, tunnels and mines whilst we are closed to the public
  • innovate new ways to connect people with their heritage virtually

Whether you can give the value of a virtual coffee, boat trip, Sunday lunch or more we're grateful for every penny.

Thank you so much for your support.
