In addition to our archive of documents relating to the history of Dudley Canal & Tunnel Trust, we are also interested in people's wider memories of and connections to the waterways. Do you have memories of playing by the canal as a child? Maybe you've been fishing in a lock, or ridden a bike along with the towpath. Maybe you had family members who lived by the canal, or took boating holidays.

Whatever your connection to the waterways, we want your memories to add to our collection!

Canal Memories is a project run by our Learning & Engagement Team, mainly led by a team of volunteers. It has three goals;

- To collect stories, memories, photos and objects relating to the waterways of the Black Country

- To transcribe, catalogue and collate these contributions into an archive of materials

- To showcase these contributions to the public through outreach events and digital media

We'll share the things we've collected through our exhibitions in Tunnel Treasures and the Waterside Gallery, as well as through digital content on our website and social media.

If you've got a memory, photograph or anything else relating to the waterways that you'd like to share with us, get in touch with us by email to [email protected] and we'll get back in touch with you as soon as we can.
